During a professional transition, while exploring various paths and considering the future, Djam Bakhshandegi found inspiration at a soul.com workshop on Trust. This inspiration sparked the creation of Konokan, named after the Japanese phrase ‘koi no yokan’, which captures the extraordinary feeling of knowing you’ll fall in love with someone upon first meeting them. With the support of family and friends, Djam’s vision materialised in 2024, combining a personal quest for a better world, peace, and connection with a love for thrifting, vintage treasures, and neighbourhood markets.

Driven by questions that resonated deeply, such as how to create a collaborative environment where individuals can engage in meaningful consultation, learning, and collective action, Konokan was born. It sought to answer how we can balance the needs of people, prosperity, and the planet, fostering a space where creativity and livelihood coexist harmoniously.

At Konokan, success is measured not just by growth, but by the quality of contributions and the shared prosperity of its community. As this vibrant network of artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs flourishes, it remains dedicated to enhancing skills, exchanging energy and knowledge, and upholding core values. Together, they strive towards a brighter future, where every interaction and offering is a step towards meaningful change.
